SODIUM HYDROSULPHITE
RTC is one of the leading suppliers of Pure Sodium Hydrosulphite (popularly known as Hydros)
in India. We adopt a unique process for the manufacture of Sodium Hydrosulphite, known as 'Sodium Formate Process', as against
the conventional method of Zinc or Amalgam Process. The advantage of Sodium Formate Process is that the end product does not
contain even traces of Zinc Iron or Mercury. TCP has collaboration with M/s Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, who have supplied
both the imported equipment and the process know how for the plant. This is the only plant in India and among the five in
the world, using this unique. 'Sodium Formate Process'.
CHEMICAL STANDARD:
RTC Sodium Hydrosulphite conforms to ISI Standard in purity
- 84-88%. RTC also manufacture Sodium Hydrosulphite of higher purity. Quality system of TCP's process is as per ISO 9002.
APPLICATIONS:
Textile: A Reducing Agent, Dyeing Auxiliary in Vat Dyeing, in 'Reduction
Clearing' of Disperse Dyes and in the 'Stripping' of direct colour and as a reduction Bleaching Agent for wool, nylon and
cotton.
Food: As a preservative.
Sugar/Jaggery: For
purification as a Bleaching Agent in the removal of organic and other impurities, thereby imparting attractive colour and
sweetness to the end product. Jaggery produced by hydros will not become black and will not become semi solid on long storage.
Pharmaceutical: Extensively used in reducing reaction
and as a Bleaching Agent in the Manufacture of certain Antibiotics and Analgesics.
Paper: Used as a Bleaching Agent in Paper and Pulp
Industry, for bleaching of mechanised pulps, single stage or for split bleaching.
Clay: Hydrosulphite bleaching of clay removes of
iron impurities and allows clay to be bleached to perfect whiteness. Sodium Hydrosulphite transforms trivalent iron to bivalent
which, on subsequent acid treatment, dissolves and removes iron from the clay.
Vat Dyes: Hydrosulphite is used in the manufacture of
Vat Dyes.
Soap: Hydrosulphite
is used in the bleaching of Crude Soap, particularly, in the manufacture of Washing Soaps.
Tanning of Leather: Used as a 'Reducing agent' in the preparation
of Chrome Tanned Leather'. It is also used as a 'Bleaching Agent' in the manufacture of 'Vegetable Tanned Leather'.
